An exciting opportunity exists for an Electrical
Tradesperson within the Murray Production Team at
Khancoban. The successful candidate will be expected
to conduct routine corrective, defect and breakdown
maintenance of generating units, auxiliary plant and
outlying hydraulic structures to contribute to achieving
the required availability and reliability of Snowy Hydro
assets across the entire scheme.
Reporting to the Team Leader - Maintenance as an
Electrical Tradesperson, you will be responsible for:
» Conduct routine and breakdown maintenance on hydro
generating plant, auxiliary plant, outlying equipment
and structures and identify report and repair defects.
» Install, overhaul and test hydro/gas generating plant,
auxiliary, outlying equipment and structures.
» Undertake electrical trades tasks within competencies,
qualifications, and authorisation.
» Maintain records by completing all admin paperwork
and utilising the maintenance management systems.
» Identifying and recommending improvement
opportunities associated with maintenance activities
Operating auxiliary plant and equipment systems within
competencies and authorisation.
» Facilitate and support training development and share
knowledge as required and assist in the development
and update of maintenance 'How to' guides.
» Electrical installation and repair work, including
verification and sign-off of electrical work according to
regulatory standards and internal requirements.
» Contributing to the planning of work through the
development of work plans and job steps to ensure
maintenance activities (the 'Scope of Work') can be
accurately scheduled and executed.
» Training and supervision of apprentices.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
» Cert III in Electrical Trade and current Electrical Licence.
» A current drivers Licence.
» Desire to live and work in a semi remote rural area.
» Relevant post trade experience in the industrial or
power industry working on, and maintaining, electrical
equipment, especially maintenance of large plant and
» Knowledge of maintenance program requirements,
management practices and analysis techniques.
Computer skills including spreadsheets and statistical
» Sound knowledge of electrical installation, control
systems, DC Batteries, maintenance, testing,
commissioning and monitoring procedures and work
» Demonstrated ability to communicate with a range of
personnel and customers.
» Knowledge of WH&S, EEO and environmental policies
» Knowledge of PLC’s, instrumentation and HV (desirable)
The base payrange for this role is $65,426 - $83,599
plus 11.5% superannuation.

Public safety works at
Avondale Gardens to commence
Avondale Gardens, located approximately 12km
south of Shelley, has been temporarily closed
from Monday 21 May for three weeks while work
is undertaken to remove hazardous trees from
the area. The gardensʼ closure is necessary for
public safety during the completion of works.
Avondale Reserve Community
The Department of Environment, Land, Water
and Planning (DELWP) is inviting the public to
attend a community meeting to help develop a
management plan for Avondale Reserve.
DELWP values public feedback about the reserve.
Two meetings will take place on Monday 28 May.
The first will be held from 10am to 2pm at
